Unidentified armed men shot and killed a paramilitary personnel belonging to Thamil Makkal Viduthalai Puligal (TMVP) Wednesday night 7:05 p.m. at Siththaa'ndi in Ea'raavoor police division in Batticaloa district.
The victim is identified as Sithiravel Kalaichelvan,30, residing at Murugan Koyil road, Siththaa'ndi.
Kalaichelvan employed at the TMVP office of Chengkaladi was on visit to his grand mother living in Siththaa'ndi colony area when he was shot dead.
Ea'raavoor police recovered the body of the victim and handed it over to Chengkaladi hospital for post mortem examinations.
Siththaa'ndi is located 27 km northwest of Batticaloa.
